ThE IsLaNd HoPpInG AdVeNtUrE!

My boyfriend's former high school classmate named Apple came back from the United States. She was here for a short vacation because she was home sick. She wanted to see her close friends and meet their boyfriends or girlfriends. She invited everyone for an Island hopping at Samal Island Philippines. She paid all the expenses, all we have to do is bring our swimming stuffs.

I enjoyed the beautiful beach resorts surrounding Samal Island as well as the beautiful sceneries and views. I got to know her more, and to realize that she is so nice to be with as well as their other high school friends. It was indeed a fun trip. Before the sun set, We stayed at Costa Marina. It is one of the most beautiful resort in that island. When the night fall, we had a very cool party by the beach. We danced and drink till dawn. It was fun and very memorable.

A week after the Island Hopping, Apple went back to US. We miss her company and hope that she'll come back again!

@ GiLbErT's ReSt HoUsE!

It was Friday in the evening when my boyfriend's cellphone rang. We were eating at a fast food during that time. His bestfriend Gilbert Chua calledand wanted to have a swimming party in his rest house the following day. He said he miss his bestfriend and his High school "Barkada". After having dinner, we went to his house. When we arrived, some of their friends were already there. We talked about what to bring for the swimming party.

The next day before going to the party, me and my boyfriend decided to buy our favorite pizza to share in the party. We arrived at about 8 in the evening. All were already wearing their swim wears. We all had fun. The guys were the ones assigned to grill and barbecue, the girls prepared and set the table. Some were swimming and some were playing pool. The rain fell, but we had fun even more instead of stopping the party. It was one of my relaxing moments. I had a great time with my boyfriend and his friends.

SiLhOuEtTe!

These pictures were taken by our friend Fernand Salinas at Canibad during our Overnight Beach getaway using my boyfriend's 400D canon camera. We didn't notice him taking our pictures. But thanks to him, those were pictures for keeps. Me and my boyfriend were just having fun by the sea shore during that time. We were collecting shells and run after each other. The night before this day, we promised something to each other and that we should wake up before the sun rises. I love the pictures so much, It will remind us about the promise we made and a happy moment we spent together.

PaRaDiSe In DaVaO!

November last year the Micromedia Production was invited to join a Canadian funded film competition. We were required to shoot the short film for five days only. The location assigned to us was in Cotabato City Mindanao. We had sleepless nights and problems in the production. But the Micromedia Production group didn't give up. We took every difficulty and problems as trials, so instead of giving up we were more challenged to shoot the film in that very short span of time.

When we came back to Davao, the group decided to have a break after the week's busy moment. Majority of the group decided to have an overnight beach getaway at Canibad Resort in Samal Island. I haven't been there yet, it was my first time. They say, it is Davao's very own Boracay. Some call it "The paradise". So, i was excited to see the beach.

I love the beach so much, so when i got home i packed my things and prepared some food to share for the group. The next day at 7am, my boyfriend fetched me and then went to the groups meeting place. We all had to ride a boat to reach the island, it took only 10 minutes. When we got to Samal island, we had to ride a jeepney for about an hour goint to Canibad Resort.

When we got there, i must say it's one of the most beautiful beaches in the Philippines. It is indeed a paradise, the water is clear, the sand is white and very thin, the air is very fresh and birds were singing from trees, the resort is surrounded by beautiful high green mountains, the people were so friendly and kind. The cottages are so clean and cozy, yet very affordable. And take note, NO ENTRANCE FEE!.

The group had fun, we played games, we grilled fish and meat, we did some barbecue, we had a night swimming, story telling, and of course picture taking. We indeed relaxed and unwind. It's one way of getting out from your busy daily routine work and free your mind from worries and problems. I wish to go back there soon!

A VeRy ToUcHiNg ShOrT StOrY

Bible

This is another short story sent to me by a friend through e-mail. After reading it, i felt so sad and realized that no other thing is much more important than our loved ones. They are more precious than gold and can't be replaced with anything in the world. Our loved ones are the greatest gift and blessing from God!

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's
showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told
him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited
signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the
morning of his graduation his father called him into his private
study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine
son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son
a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man
opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily,
he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you
give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy
book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in
business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He
had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make
arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had
passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He
needed to come home immediately and take care things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and
regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father's important papers and
saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he
read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope
taped behind the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the
sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation,
and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?

I'M So PrOuD Of YoU!

I have a boyfriend, I met him March last year and became his girl April that year. And now, we're almost a year together and we will be celebrating our first year anniversary on the 23rd of April 2008. His name is Mc Robert Nacario 23 years old. Friends call him Coicoi. He is very talented and smart. He's into film making and photography. H's the one who encouraged me to join film making only to realize that i have a talent in this field. He is the Micromedia Production's Film director. He joined and won many full length and short film competitions.

We've been through many ups and downs, misunderstandings and arguments. We had so many trials and problems, but we never gave up. Instead, we stayed strong and we manage to patch things up. Because of him, i learned a lot about love and relationships.

We both have a lot of things in common. We love swimming, photography, film making, chocolate lovers, play PS2/ PSP, we love conversations, we love challenges and experiencing new things, we love movies, documentaries, the beach, we also love eating, play under the rain and a lot more.

There's no such thing as perfect, but this relationship that we have, I consider it as the almost perfect relationship more than any other relationship status could be. I'm so thankful i found him. I could not ask for more. I'm so blessed to be loved by him. It's the greatest gift ever. I hope we'll stay longer. I want to share my whole life with him. I'm so proud of my KIAT BOYFRIEND! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

UnCoNDiTiOnAl LoVe

soldier

This story was sent to me by my X-boyfriend through e-mail. He knows that I love short stories and poems. "Unconditional Love" is a type of story wherein it tends to motivate the readers. Read the story and then tell me what you think you'll do if it happens to you... Share to me the lessons you've learned after reading this short story.

Unconditional Love - motivating story

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me."

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!

There's a miracle called Friendship That dwells in the heart You don't know how it happens Or when it gets started But you know the special lift It always brings And you realize that Friendship Is God's most precious gift!

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.

THE WINDOW BY: UNKNOWN AUTHOR

window

I was searching for some short films in the internet and hopping that i could get ideas from it. I saw a story entitled "The Window". It seems interesting so i clicked the link and read the story. It goes like this:

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should hehave all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - and that thought now controlled his life.

Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now, there was only silence--deathly silence.

The following morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendant to take it away--no words, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.

Moral of the story:

The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. And I am certain that our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy.

The pursuit of happiness is an inward journey. Our minds are like programs, awaiting the code that will determine behaviors; like bank vaults awaiting our deposits. If we regularly deposit positive, encouraging, and uplifting thoughts, if we continue to bite our lips just before we begin to grumble and complain, if we shoot down that seemingly harmless negative thought as it germinates, we will find that there is much to rejoice about.

Independent Filmmakers!

Photography Film Strip

I am a member of Micromedia Production, I am the team's production manager. We are not professional filmmakers. We are a group of independent filmmakers composed of students, free lancers, and out of school youths. We earn extra money by joining film competitions such as short film and full length film competitions. On the year 2006, the group won Guerilla filmmaking competition and bagged the following awards: Best Actor/ Best Musical Scoring/ Best Editing/ Best Cinematography/ Best Director/ Red Fist.

Last November 2007, we were invited to join a Canadian Funded short film competition. The story was about a tri-people living in one community. The story focuses mainly on how these people get along so well with each other despite of their differences in culture, beliefs, traditions, and religion. The awarding will be on the 25th this month. We do not expect too much, but we hope and pray that we could win any award from the competition. Well, good luck for the group...

A FaThErS DrEaM!

I have a lot of ambitions and dreams for the future. I wanted to be a DJ, a filmmaker (film director or writer to be specific), a TV reporter, and even a newscaster. So, for this dreams and ambition to fulfill, I wanted to take up Mass Communication in college. After graduating high school, my father told me a story about his plans for his brother back when they were still in high school. He told me that he wanted his brother to be a doctor in the future, he even told his brother that he will pay for his schooling. But this dreams were crushed and destroyed when his brother's girlfriend got pregnant. So, my father's brother wasn't able to fulfill my father's dream. Since i will be in college, my father asked me to take up BS Biology a preparatory course for Medicine, he wanted me to fulfill the dream that his brother didn't fulfill. I got no choice, since i love my father so much and making him happy is the most important thing for me, i took the said course. He was so happy during that time. At first it was difficult for me but after a year of taking the course, i get to like it and enjoyed the subjects. But of course, I'd be much happier if I'd get the chance to take up the course that I've always wanted. Well, i love my dad so much.

SaD NeW YeAr!

SAD

Yesterday was new years day. It was a sad new year for me, my brother and my sisters because my parents were not here to celebrate with us. They had to stay in Manila for few weeks more because they will open a new business for the family. But it's OK, we understand them.

I cooked a lot of food for new years eve. My sisters and brother helped me prepare the food for celebration. After new years eve, we went to the park. We had fun and we saw families visiting and celebrating new year in the park. We tried to eat street foods during that time. It's delicious! We miss our parents so much because it was the first new years day that our family isn't complete. Hope they'll come back home soon...
