Hancock

Weeeee! another movie date with coicoi! Yesterday we went out to watch movie again. Yes again! We watched Hancock. The film is so funny and nice! Love it and the main character is Will Smith, one of my favorite hollywood actor. I guess you peeps now know what me and Coicoi love to do during our free time hehehehhe... We really love watching movies and films.

Wanted

Wow this movie is really cool. It's Saturday in the afternoon when we went out again to watch movie, we've been waiting for this movie from the first time we saw the trailer. Me and Coicoi had d chance to go out on a date again hehehehe...

The Incredible Halk

Yesterday after Coicoi's work, we had a double date along with Flordy and Earl. We've decided to go out on a date and watch movie "Incredible Hulk". So we went to SM city, had dinner, bought tickets and fall in line. The movie was so great, and I think it is better than the previous versions of this movie. Hehehehehe one of the must seen movies!

For The Best Film Director In DC!

Tomorrow is a special day! My boyfriend and I will be celebrating our first year anniversary. Before going to his office, I went to the mall early this afternoon and looked for the book entitled "Trip To Quiapo" by Ricky Lee. The book is actually a scriptwriting manual. Since he is a film director, I want him to have a copy of it for him to enhance his skills and knowledge in directing films as well as in scriptwriting. The other book is entitled "True Grit" by Debora Meroff. The story is about the problems, struggles and experiences of 9 different women in different countries. He loves books, poems and short stories, I hope He'll like the gifts!

A Forum With Aureus Solito!

The Mindanao Independent Filmmakers Circle will be presenting "Cultural Identities in Documentary Films" with the Award-winning filmmaker Mr. Auraeus Solito (Director of Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros, Tuli, Pisay) will be the guest speaker in the forum on April 26, 2008, 9am at the Institute for Indigenous Peoples Education. He will be screening his critically acclaimed documentary Basal Banar (Sacred Ritual of Truth).

The forum is open to non-workshop participants. Registration is at PhP200 inclusive of snacks and handouts. Slots are very limited. FiLm DoCuMeNtArY WoRkShOp! DAY 2

April 13, the second day of the film documentary workshop! I'm so excited because Teng Mangansakan will be the speaker for the day. The topic will be about the elements of script writing and the importance of the script. I woke up late, i needed to hurry up so I wont miss his lectures. When i arrived, I'm glad that Teng hasn't started yet. They were having a film viewing.

After the film viewing, Teng opened the floor for questions And started discussing about what a script is, importance of script and the elements of script. Everybody was participating in the activities and was able to come up with nice ideas. but, some were getting sleepy and Teng hd been very patient and continued discussing. hehehehe...

FiLm DoCuMeNtArY WoRkShOp! DAY 1

April 12, It was the first day of the film documentary workshop. I was still sleepy when my boyfriend woke me up. Sharon, our friend was also still sleepy but we needed to prepare because we don't want to be late for the workshop. So we took a bath, dressed up, ate a quick breakfast and went to the IIPE where the workshop will be held.

When we arrived, we met participants from other places in Mindanao. Some were from Kidapawan and the others from Tagum. While waiting for the guest speaker, Teng showed us the Film Documentary of Mr. Dominic Morissette the "Afghan Chronicles". I was so amazed about how he did the film documentary. I was so excited to meet him and to ask him some questions.

After a few minutes, Mr. Dominic arrived. He was smiling and was happy to see that almost all of the participants were so interested in film documentary and were young. He discussed to us the difference of film and documentary. He explained why he did the documentary in Afghanistan and how he did the documentary. He entertained our questions and we were satisfied with his answers and was able to learn a lot from him.

We had a lot of fun and had the chance to take some pictures with him!

After the christening party of our friend's daughter, me and my sweety went to meet up with our teammates in the production at Picobello's for pizza. On our way to Picobello's, we met Ayyi at the elevator,. We ordered 2 flavors of pizza since Picobello's has a buy one take one promo on pizzas. Then Sharon and Fern suddenly came and ordered another pizza. We had a nice time with each other. We took pictures and had jokes. It was one of the best times with friends. We left the place with our tummies full...

OoOOpssss! The fun never stop! When we left Picobello's, Ayyi asked us if we could accompany her at MIX FM because she and some of the BEAM Boss will be guesting in a talk show. But since it was still early, the group decided to go and drop by AVL or Alchemy of Vision and Light the Davao Production House. Unfortunately, it was closed. So, we wasted time by taking pictures along the road and headed to Mix FM station.

ChiLd LaBoR! WhO ShOuLd Be BLAmEd?

Yesterday, I got home at 9:30 pm. Since I'm not yet sleepy, I turned on the computer and watched film documentaries through Youtube to learn more about it for the up coming film documentary workshop. While searching for more documentaries, I suddenly saw a very interesting link of a video entitled "Mga Batang Kayod Kalabaw"By i Witness. I don't know what I felt while I was watching it. The documentary was about Child labor, deforestation, and bribery. Those kids were supposed to be in school, not working! Should we blame their parents or the Government? Tell me what you think and drop a comment on this post.

FiLm DoCuMeNtArY WoRkShOp!

My Boyfriend's good friend Teng Mangansakan II, will be conducting a Film Documentary Workshop starting April 12 in Davao City. The Workshop will hold classes and lectures during weekends of April (April 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27). Documentary projects will be produced on May. These documentaries will be screened during the 1st Salam Mindanao International Film Festival later this year.

Canadian filmmaker Dominic Morrissette (Afghan Chronicles) will be the guest speaker of the Workshop.Morrissette is the director of Afghan Chronicles.

Regular registration is PhP1,800 but early birds will have a discounted registration of PhP1,500. Students will enjoy a further reduced PhP1,200 registration.

PiZzA WiTh My SwEeTaH!

Me and my boyfriend want to watch the movie "300", which according to our friends is a must seen movie. So since we both don't have classes, we've decided to go and watch the movie. We went to NCCC mall and bought our tickets, but it's too early for the next showing. We both were thinking of having pizza before going to the cinema since it's too early for the next showing.

We went to Pizza Hut and ordered our favorite family sized stuffed crust pizza. When our order came, some people were looking at us and I find it so annoying. I went to the bathroom and checked if there's a dirt on my face, but there was nothing. My boyfriend was so neat so they can't be staring at him. My boyfriend smiled and told me that maybe they were thinking if we could eat the whole thing. Hahahaha... they just don't know we can have whole family sized pizza each. We just love eating pizza so much!

ThE BeSt PhOtOgRaPhEr AnD FiLm DiReCtOr In My LiFe!

It's Sunday, and instead of staying home to rest for the up coming busy week, my boyfriend asked me to accompany him in the park to practice photography using his new lens. When we arrived, he took pictures of me before he started taking pictures of anything he can see there. He got nice shots of kids and family. I consider thIS day as a date for the both of us because we had lots of fun and we had the chance to spend time with each other. Its one beautiful day to be remembered. I love you sWEETY!

A NiGhT At KaNtO BaR!

Yesterday, me and my boyfriend were on our way home when his cellphone suddenly rang. It was Mr. Teng Mangansakan, he wants us to meet up with him because he wants to introduce my boyfriend to Mr. Emman Dela Cruz (one of the most famous Filipino Directors in the Philippines). Unfortunately, when we arrived Mr Emman Dela Cruz had already left.

We stayed there and had a chit chat with Mr. Teng Mangansakan with regards to the pre-judging of the film entries of November. According to him, the competition is tough. Some of the judges gave us a good critic, some negative. But it's ok, my boyfriend told me that people have different point of views.

After about an hour, our friend Fern arrived. He was the editor of Mona's film. He also asked Mr. Mangansakan about the pre-judging. Suddenly, our attentions were caught by the performers of Kanto Bar. They play jazz and love songs. The girl vocalist is so pretty and has a very nice voice.

We ordered food and beer, we stopped talking about the film competition, we paid our attention to the performers and had fun. We went home at 2 in the morning.

BiNiToN

Biniton is our entry for the Canadian Funded short film competition. We did the film November last year. My boyfriend Mc Robert Nacario directs Biniton. It is a story depicting the process of preparation and cooking of a dish called Biniton that is particular to the community of Saniag, Ampatuan. The process of cooking, in the eyes of an old woman, brings to life the hardships they experienced amidst armed conflict at the same time the process of preparation, through the experience of Amel, her grandson walks us through the current situation of their community. How amidst the hardships and diversity in culture they had all managed to bounce back and become united.

This film, along with six other short films from Mindanao, already had its World Premiere last December 6, 2007 7pm at Indie Sine, Robinson's Galleria, Ortigas Center in Pasig City. But the awarding will be held on March 25 this year at Cotabato City.

These pictures were taken by our friend Fernand Salinas at Canibad during our Overnight Beach getaway using my boyfriend's 400D canon camera. We didn't notice him taking our pictures. But thanks to him, those were pictures for keeps. Me and my boyfriend were just having fun by the sea shore during that time. We were collecting shells and run after each other. The night before this day, we promised something to each other and that we should wake up before the sun rises. I love the pictures so much, It will remind us about the promise we made and a happy moment we spent together.

PaRaDiSe In DaVaO!

November last year the Micromedia Production was invited to join a Canadian funded film competition. We were required to shoot the short film for five days only. The location assigned to us was in Cotabato City Mindanao. We had sleepless nights and problems in the production. But the Micromedia Production group didn't give up. We took every difficulty and problems as trials, so instead of giving up we were more challenged to shoot the film in that very short span of time.

When we came back to Davao, the group decided to have a break after the week's busy moment. Majority of the group decided to have an overnight beach getaway at Canibad Resort in Samal Island. I haven't been there yet, it was my first time. They say, it is Davao's very own Boracay. Some call it "The paradise". So, i was excited to see the beach.

I love the beach so much, so when i got home i packed my things and prepared some food to share for the group. The next day at 7am, my boyfriend fetched me and then went to the groups meeting place. We all had to ride a boat to reach the island, it took only 10 minutes. When we got to Samal island, we had to ride a jeepney for about an hour goint to Canibad Resort.

When we got there, i must say it's one of the most beautiful beaches in the Philippines. It is indeed a paradise, the water is clear, the sand is white and very thin, the air is very fresh and birds were singing from trees, the resort is surrounded by beautiful high green mountains, the people were so friendly and kind. The cottages are so clean and cozy, yet very affordable. And take note, NO ENTRANCE FEE!.

The group had fun, we played games, we grilled fish and meat, we did some barbecue, we had a night swimming, story telling, and of course picture taking. We indeed relaxed and unwind. It's one way of getting out from your busy daily routine work and free your mind from worries and problems. I wish to go back there soon!

I'M So PrOuD Of YoU!

I have a boyfriend, I met him March last year and became his girl April that year. And now, we're almost a year together and we will be celebrating our first year anniversary on the 23rd of April 2008. His name is Mc Robert Nacario 23 years old. Friends call him Coicoi. He is very talented and smart. He's into film making and photography. H's the one who encouraged me to join film making only to realize that i have a talent in this field. He is the Micromedia Production's Film director. He joined and won many full length and short film competitions.

We've been through many ups and downs, misunderstandings and arguments. We had so many trials and problems, but we never gave up. Instead, we stayed strong and we manage to patch things up. Because of him, i learned a lot about love and relationships.

We both have a lot of things in common. We love swimming, photography, film making, chocolate lovers, play PS2/ PSP, we love conversations, we love challenges and experiencing new things, we love movies, documentaries, the beach, we also love eating, play under the rain and a lot more.

There's no such thing as perfect, but this relationship that we have, I consider it as the almost perfect relationship more than any other relationship status could be. I'm so thankful i found him. I could not ask for more. I'm so blessed to be loved by him. It's the greatest gift ever. I hope we'll stay longer. I want to share my whole life with him. I'm so proud of my KIAT BOYFRIEND! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

Unconditional Love - motivating story

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.

"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me."

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.
