This April 9 is Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) a.k.a. Bataan Day in Philippines - a yearly commemoration of Filipino heroes who fought for freedom during World War II. Fall of Bataan, marked the atrocities of Japanese army to the captives of 66,000 Filipinos (only 27,000 are listed combat effective) and 11,796 Americans who walked in the infamous death march from Mariveles, Bataan to Camp O’Donnell in Capas, Tarlac – approx. 60mile distance.
